As a native of Racine and a lover of fine Kringle I am always disappointed to see the exploitation of Racine Kringle throughout the Unites States.
In just about every large and small Wisconsin grocery store outside of racine, WI and elsewhere in the United States are displays offering authentic Racine Kringle. I suppose this is all a matter of opinion, but for those of us born and raised in Racine the overwhelming opinion is that we wouldn't eat one of these wanna-be kringles unless we were near starved to death.
The best way to taste a real Racine Kringle is to wal kinto a real and time tested Racine Danish Bakery and purchase one, take it home and eat it. the second best way would be to order one from a real Racine Danish Baker. I am happy to see that most of them do ship their kringle oustide of Racine.
I strongly warn against ordering a kringle from one of these companies that decided to obtain legal rights to the name "Racine Kringle" and then advertisse them all around the United States as if it were the same kringle most people in Racine enjoys.
In conclusion, I really love to eat the quality kringle that has been baked in Racine for decades. I think it is great that thse establishments have web sites so their kringle can be purchased online and shipped anywhere in the Unites States. Do your homework and order a true Racine Kringle and just a "Racine Kringle".
